Reverse description Elaborate quartered royal coat of arms of the Habsburg-Spanish monarchy, surmounted by an imperial crown flanked by two heraldic supporters, all within a beaded inner circle. The shield displays the combined arms of Castile, León, Aragon, Sicily, Austria, Burgundy, and Granada, arranged in the complex dynastic quartering characteristic of Charles V's imperial heraldry. Decorative foliate mantling and scrollwork frame the shield on either side. The abbreviated Latin legend R ° ARA - CO . V . SI. appears in the outer field, referencing the ruler's titles as King of the Romans, Aragon, and Sicily. The engraving is bold and typical of the hammered gold coinage produced for the Kingdom of Sicily in the mid-sixteenth century.
