| Obverse description | St. Mark standing facing left presents a staff topped with a cross to the kneeling Doge at right; the inscription DVX appears vertically between the two figures. The scene is rendered in the flat, hieratic style characteristic of early Venetian ducats, with both figures shown in full length. A beaded border frames the composition, and the abbreviated legend of St. Mark and Venice appears in the field. |

The design is executed in the Byzantine-influenced Gothic style common to the Venetian zecchino. |
