| Obverse description | Full-length armored figure of Filippo Spinola standing facing, wearing a plumed helmet and Renaissance half-armor, holding a sword in the right hand and a scepter or baton in the left. Flanking the figure are two crowned heraldic shields: the Spinola family arms to the left and the imperial arms to the right. A small mint mark or ornament appears below the figure's feet. The circumferential legend PHILIPPVS SP D G COM PAL runs around the periphery within a beaded border. |
