The date 96 (for 1596) appears divided in the lower field to either side of the saint's feet. The circumferential Latin legend S. HEN. ROM. IMP - E - R: DVX. BAVA. identifies the saint and his imperial title. The coin is struck on a broad flan with a toothed outer border, consistent with Munich Mint practice of the period. |
