Obverse description A fully armored knight stands facing right in the field, holding in his right hand a drawn sword and in his left a bundle of seven arrows symbolizing the seven United Provinces; the date 1771 is divided by the knight's figure to left and right. The legend encircles the design without an inner circle. A rectangular Willem I countermark is applied in the field, as required for circulation in the Dutch East Indies.
