| Obverse description | Draped and armored bust of Stephen Báthory facing right, wearing an ornate royal crown with beaded band, the effigy rendered in high relief with visible beard and strong facial features characteristic of late Renaissance portraiture. The king's mantle and armor are depicted with detailed engraving at the truncation.
