| Obverse description | Conjoined draped busts of co-rulers Rudolf August and Anton Ulrich facing right, their long curled wigs rendered in fine baroque detail. The legend encircles the effigies along the periphery, reading D·G·RVD·AVG·ET·ANT·VLR·D·D·BR·ET·L·, identifying the two dukes by their titles as Dukes of Brunswick and Lüneburg. The portrait composition is characteristic of late 17th-century German medallic art, with both figures overlapping in a single unified bust. The field around the busts is smooth, with the legends confined to a border following the coin's edge. |
