| Obverse description | Full-length crowned figure of Emperor Rudolf II standing facing, clad in elaborate armoured regalia, holding an orb in his right hand and a sceptre in his left. The emperor is depicted in Renaissance style with fine detail to the armour and imperial vestments. A beaded inner circle frames the central effigy. The surrounding Latin legend reads RUDOLFVS II D G R I S A G H B REX, identifying Rudolf II by the grace of God as King of the Romans, Hungary, and Bohemia. The mintmaster's mark appears in the lower field below the emperor's feet. |
