Obverse description Large Greek cross occupying the central field, with three pellets (bullet points) arranged in each of the four quadrants formed by the cross arms. The cross is surrounded by a beaded inner circle, with the Cyrillic legend disposed in the outer circular field. The overall design reflects the Byzantine-influenced coinage tradition of medieval Wallachia, executed in a bold hammered style typical of the late 14th century.
