背面描述 Elaborately quartered heraldic shield bearing the arms of the Prince-Bishopric of Breslau, supported by two rampant lions as shield-bearers, surmounted by a princely crown with elaborate mantling. The shield displays multiple quarterings incorporating the arms of Breslau, Neisse, and Grottkau. The date 1752 appears in the upper field flanking the crown, while the surrounding legend reads EPIS VVRAT PR NISS ET DUX GROTTK. A small ornamental star or rosette appears at the base of the design serving as a legend separator. The reverse exhibits the formal heraldic style typical of mid-18th century German ecclesiastical coinage.

附加信息

Philip Gotthard von Schaffgotsch was appointed Prince-Bishop of Breslau in 1747 under pressure from Frederick the Great, who had seized Silesia from Austria just years earlier and wanted a compliant ecclesiastical figure running the region's most powerful diocese. The appointment was politically contentious — Schaffgotsch had Prussian sympathies, which ultimately proved his undoing. He was arrested in 1764 and tried for treason after allegedly conspiring with Austria during the Seven Years' War, dying under house arrest in 1795.

These ducats were struck across a narrow five-year window before Prussian administrative pressure effectively curtailed independent episcopal coinage in Breslau.
