| Obverse description | Armored bust of Mihály Apafi I, Prince of Transylvania, facing right, wearing a fur-trimmed cloak and a crown, with elaborate armor visible on the chest and shoulder. The effigy is rendered in a robust baroque style with fine detail on the drapery and regalia. A beaded inner circle frames the portrait, with the Latin legend distributed around the periphery of the hexagonal flan. The mintmaster's initials appear in the lower field beneath the bust. |
