| Obverse description | Armored half-length bust of Mihály Apafi I facing right, wearing an elaborate plumed helmet and richly decorated armor with intricate scrollwork and chainmail visible at the collar. The prince holds a scepter in his right hand, and the figure is rendered in the vigorous late Renaissance hammered style typical of Transylvanian ducats. The circumferential legend reads MICHAEL APAFI D G P T, partially distributed around the inner beaded border, with the letters flanking the bust. |

| Reverse description | Central crowned shield bearing the quartered arms of Transylvania, surmounted by a royal crown with elaborate acanthus-scroll mantling flanking the escutcheon on either side. The date appears in the left field alongside the mint mark, while the circumferential Latin legend is distributed around the beaded border. The heraldic composition is executed in the bold, high-relief style characteristic of mid-seventeenth-century Transylvanian gold coinage. |
