| Obverse description | Draped bust of Empress Maria Theresa facing right, her hair elaborately dressed in a loose curled coiffure with a ribbon or ornament at the nape, wearing a jewelled necklace and low décolletage with lace trim. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the Baroque manner, with fine detail in the drapery and curled locks. The peripheral legend, commencing at the lower left, reads M · THERES · D · G · RO · I · GE · HU · BO · REG ·, interrupted by the portrait. The coin exhibits a milled or grained border running around the entire circumference. |
