Obverse description The wildman of Brunswick, a nude bearded figure wearing a leafy crown, stands facing in the field, his left hand resting upon the crowned quartered arms of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel and his right hand grasping an uprooted fir tree. The Latin legend EX ADVERSO DECVS arcs around the upper periphery, with the date 1733 in the lower exergue. The coin is struck in high relief with fine baroque engraving, and the fields are bordered by a beaded inner circle.
