正面描述 Central field displays a crowned baroque cartouche containing the conjoined arms of the Imperial Abbeys of Murbach and Lüders: a quartered shield bearing the abbatial emblems, flanked by ornate scrollwork and surmounted by an elaborate crown. A beaded inner border separates the armorial design from the surrounding Latin legend. The peripheral legend reads MON NO AVR ABBAT MVRB ET LVTRE, identifying the coin as a new gold piece of the abbots of Murbach and Lüders, distributed along the outer rim of the hammered flan.

附加信息

Murbach and Lüders were twin Alsatian abbeys administered jointly, and by 1635 their coining rights were exercised under Leopold William of Austria, younger brother of Emperor Ferdinand III, who held the abbacy in commendam — a common Habsburg practice of parking lucrative ecclesiastical offices with junior dynastic members rather than resident clergy. The Thirty Years' War was grinding through its seventeenth year, and Alsace was actively contested terrain.

KM# 10 is a scarce type. Ducats from this abbatial mint appear infrequently at auction, a function of both limited original production and the abbey's suppression long before systematic numismatic collecting began.
