| 裏面の説明 | The quartered coat of arms of Prince-Bishop Leopold Maria Joseph of Spaur displayed on an ornate baroque cartouche, surmounted by a patriarchal cross. An ermine-lined princely mantle, crowned with a princely hat, frames the shield from behind. A crosier and a sword are crossed behind the escutcheon, symbolizing the prince-bishop's dual spiritual and temporal authority. The date 17 68 appears divided in the lower field. |

Leopold Maria von Spaur served as Prince-Bishop of Brixen from 1747 until his death in 1778, ruling during a period of mounting tension between the ecclesiastical principalities of the Tyrol and the centralizing reforms of Maria Theresa and, later, Joseph II. The Bishopric of Brixen retained its mint rights as a sovereign ecclesiastical territory of the Holy Roman Empire, though that sovereignty was increasingly nominal by the 1760s.
Ducats of this type were struck in small quantities for ceremonial and diplomatic use rather than general circulation — a practical reality for a minor episcopal mint operating in the shadow of the Habsburg monetary system.
