Obverse description Laureate bust of Leopold II facing right, with flowing hair tied at the back. The circular legend reads LEOPOLDUS II. ROMANORUM IMPERATOR with an engraver's initial B. at the lower truncation. The rim is finely reeded.

Reverse description A draped altar in the center of the field, upon which rest the Imperial crown, orb, scepter, and sword — the coronation regalia of the Holy Roman Emperor. The upper field carries the legend FELICITAS PUBLICA, while the lower exergue contains a two-line inscription recording the election at Frankfurt on 30 September 1790.
