| Opschrift voorzijde | IOSEPHVS II D G ROM REX S A G R |
| Beschrijving keerzijde | A single-headed imperial eagle displayed within an elaborate Baroque cartouche or frame, the escutcheon on its breast bearing the combined arms of Lorraine and Austria. The shield is supported on either side by rampant griffins, rendered with fine engraving detail characteristic of mid-eighteenth-century Viennese coinage. The surrounding Latin legend, broken by stops, reads HUNG BOH ZC PRINC HER ARCHID AUSTR, citing Joseph II's titles as King of Hungary and Bohemia, Prince of Herzegovina, and Archduke of Austria. The date 1764 appears in the legend at the base of the reverse. The overall composition reflects the high Baroque artistic conventions employed at the Vienna Mint during the co-regency period. |
