Obverse description Bare-headed, laureate bust of John William, Elector Palatine and Duke of Jülich-Berg, facing right, with long flowing curly hair rendered in the late Baroque manner. The portrait is bold and high-relief, occupying the majority of the coin's field. A Latin circular legend surrounds the effigy, interrupted by the bust at the lower left. The rim is defined by a finely executed inner toothed border.
