Obverse description Central field displays the crowned Saxon arms, a quartered shield bearing the distinctive pattern of alternating barry and rautenkranz (rue crown) elements, encircled by a beaded inner ring. The shield is surmounted by an electoral crown and flanked by ornate foliate mantling. The surrounding legend in German reads IN DEINEM LANDE GOTT GIB FRIEDEN, meaning 'In thy land, O God, give peace,' rendered in bold raised lettering within the outer beaded border.
