Reverse description Central device depicts a tall palm tree rising from a rocky island or outcropping surrounded by open sea, with two sailing vessels visible in the middle distance on either side — one to the left and one to the right — evoking themes of maritime commerce and Hanoverian aspirations. The composition alludes to the ducal motto EX DVRIS GLORIA, meaning 'Glory from hardship,' which arcs across the upper field as the principal legend. The date 1675 appears in the lower exergual area, flanked by small ornamental stops. The reverse is enclosed by a plain inner border with a toothed outer rim.
