The lion is rendered in the bold, somewhat angular style characteristic of late 16th-century Dutch hammered gold coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the inner beaded border, reading the titles and abbreviated name of the issuing lord, Herman Diederik of Bronckhorst. The irregular flan, typical of hammered production, results in portions of the legend being partially visible at the coin's periphery. |

| Descripción del reverso | The reverse depicts Saint Victor standing facing in full armour, holding a halberd in one hand and an orb surmounted by a cross in the other, in a hieratic, frontal composition typical of devotional imagery on late medieval and Renaissance Low Countries coinage. The saint's figure divides the field, with the initials H and B flanking the central device. A Latin legend encircles the design, referencing the gold coinage and the lord's domain. The die work is characteristic of the provincial hammered style of the Dutch lordships of the late 16th century. |
