Obverse description Armored half-length effigy of King Gustav II Adolf facing right, wearing a plumed helmet and richly draped armor, holding an upright sword over his right shoulder and a globus cruciger (orb) in his left hand. The portrait is rendered in detailed relief characteristic of early 17th-century hammered gold coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy within a beaded border.
