| Beschrijving voorzijde | Draped bust of Duke Gustav Adolphus of Mecklenburg-Güstrow facing right, with long flowing hair and lace collar, rendered in the Baroque portrait style typical of mid-17th-century German ducal coinage. The effigy occupies the central field within a beaded inner circle. The circumferential Latin legend reads D G GVSTAV ADOLPHUS DUX MECKL, identifying the ruler by name and title. Dots serve as word separators throughout the legend. The overall execution reflects the hammered technique characteristic of this period. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Gustav Adolphus of Mecklenburg-Güstrow — not to be confused with the Swedish king of the same name — ruled a duchy that had been administratively separated from Mecklenburg-Schwerin since the 1621 partition, itself a consequence of the tangled inheritance disputes that plagued the Mecklenburg line across the Thirty Years' War period. His ducal coinage was modest in output, and the three-year window of this particular ducat issue reflects the brevity of his reign, which ended with his death in 1695 — though the striking of this type ceased well before that.
