Obverse description Draped bust of King Frederik V facing right, his hair tied back and dressed in elaborate period robes with ornate foliate armour and a visible chain at the chest. The portrait is rendered in high relief in the Baroque tradition, with fine detail in the flowing hair and drapery. The mint mark 'A' appears below the bust at the bottom of the field. The circumferential Latin legend reads FRIDERICVS V D G REX DAN NOR V G A, identifying the king as Frederik V, by the Grace of God King of Denmark, Norway, the Wends and the Goths. The coin features a boldly milled edge and a wide, flat rim framing the design.

Reverse description Central device depicts a stylized East Indiaman vessel shown in profile, rendered as a decorative ship's hull with a curling stern ornament. A central mast rises from the hull, from which a rectangular pennant or flag is suspended, bearing the crowned monogram 'KDA' (Kongelige Danske Asiatiske Kompagni — Royal Danish Asiatic Company). Above the pennant, a trident-like finial crowns the masthead. The circular Latin legend REGALIBVS AVSPICIIS flanks the device left and right, meaning 'Under Royal Auspices.' In the exergue, the inscription EX AVRO SINICO / 1746 records that the coin was struck from Chinese gold, referencing the company's trade with China.
