| Obverse description | Central field displays the elaborately quartered arms of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, comprising multiple heraldic divisions featuring lions, eagles, and other dynastic charges, all surmounted by a royal crown. The shield is supported by ornate foliate mantling or scrollwork extending to either side. The circumferential legend FRIDERICVS GVILIELMVS runs along the upper portion of the coin in raised Latin characters, separated at the base by a stop. The coin's milled border frames the design closely, and the entire composition is executed in the refined neoclassical style typical of early nineteenth-century German gold coinage. |
