Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Frederick I, King of Prussia, facing right, rendered in high relief with flowing long curls extending to the truncation. The king wears a laurel wreath and a draped mantle, reflecting the Baroque portrait style of the early eighteenth century. The circular legend FRIDERICUS REX surrounds the effigy, with the mintmaster initials CG positioned in the lower field below the bust truncation. The portrait occupies nearly the full diameter of the flan, with minimal field visible.
