| 表面の説明 | Right-facing draped bust of Frederick August III, Elector of Saxony, rendered in high relief with naturalistic detail. The subject is depicted in electoral regalia, with elaborately engraved armor and lace cravat visible at the truncation. The hair is styled in the late 18th-century fashion with a queue. The circumferential Latin legend reads FRID. AVG. D. G. DVX SAX. ELECTOR, separated by a beaded border at the coin's periphery. |

Frederick August III ruled Saxony as Elector from 1763, but Napoleon's reorganization of German territories forced a political reckoning: in December 1806, Saxony was elevated to a kingdom and Frederick August became Frederick August I, King of Saxony — an arrangement that rewarded his reluctant alliance with France after the Prussian collapse at Jena-Auerstedt. These ducats, struck in the final years of the electorate, bracket that transition precisely. Those dated 1806 were minted under a constitutional order that ceased to exist before the year was out.
