背面描述 The reverse bears a six-line commemorative German inscription in bold capital letters occupying the central field: GOTT ERHALTE DAS HOCH GRAFEL LIPP HAUS NA 12 SEP 1667, meaning 'God preserve the noble comital house of Lippe, born 12 September 1667,' referencing the birthday of Frederick Adolphus. Above the inscription appears a large comital coronet flanked on either side by small decorative floral or rosette ornaments. The legend and ornaments are separated by dot stops, and the whole design is enclosed within the same rope-pattern border as the obverse. The date 1667 in the inscription refers to the count's birth date, while the coin itself was struck in 1714 to mark his 47th birthday.

附加信息

Frederick Adolphus, Count of Lippe, turned 47 in 1714 — a birthday commemorated in gold at a moment when the small Westphalian county was navigating the turbulent aftermath of the War of the Spanish Succession. Birthday ducats of this type were a distinctly German courtly tradition, struck in limited numbers as gifts distributed among the nobility rather than released into general circulation, which explains the survival rate in comparatively fresh condition.

Lippe's output of commemorative gold is thin enough that individual pieces are cross-referenced across Ihl, Friedberg, and KM without much overlap in population data. This is not a common coin by any measure.
