| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Franz I facing right, his hair tied at the nape with a ribbon whose ends fall behind the neck. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine neoclassical detail. A continuous Latin legend encircles the portrait along the beaded border, reading FRANCISCVS I. D. G. AVSTRIAE IMPERATOR. The mint mark 'A' (Vienna) appears in the lower exergual area beneath the bust. |
