Reverse description Full-length frontal figure of Saint Rupert, patron saint of Salzburg, vested in full pontifical regalia including mitre and richly ornamented cope, holding a crozier in his right hand and a salt barrel — his traditional attribute — in his left. A nimbus surrounds his head. The date 1710 appears in the upper field to the left of the figure. The circumferential Latin legend S: RVDBERTVS • EPS • SALISBVRG identifies the saint as Bishop of Salzburg, enclosed within a beaded border.
