| Obverse description | Facing busts of Emperor Francis I of Lorraine and Empress Maria Theresia, each crowned, positioned vis-à-vis at center: Francis facing right on the left and Maria Theresia facing left on the right, their effigies rendered in high relief with draped shoulders and period-appropriate coiffure. The surrounding Latin legend reads FRANC · IMP · AVG · M · THERES · HVNG · REX, distributed around the upper periphery of the coin. The field is plain and polished, with a finely reeded border separating the legend from the rim. |
