Obverse description Bare-headed right-facing laureate effigy of Emperor Francis Joseph I occupies the central field, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and sideburns characteristic of the early imperial portrait type engraved by Josef Daniel Böhm. The emperor's bust is truncated at the neck, with the mint mark 'A' appearing below. A beaded border frames the entire design. The circular Latin legend reads FRANC·IOS·I·D·G·AVSTRIAE IMPERATOR, distributed around the upper and lower periphery of the coin.
