| Reverse description | Ornate crowned Bavarian coat of arms, displaying the quartered lozengy field of Bavaria and the Palatine lion, supported by two rearing lions as shield-bearers and surmounted by the electoral bonnet above a crowned helmet with elaborate mantling. Enthroned above the achievement is the Virgin Mary holding the Christ Child, both nimbed, set against a radiant glory. The date 16-57 is divided to either side of the shield, and the Latin motto legend runs continuously around the periphery within a beaded border. |
