| Obverse description | Right-facing crowned bust of Ferdinand II in high relief, the king depicted with flowing hair beneath an ornate Gothic crown with fleur-de-lis and beaded finials. The effigy is rendered in a late medieval style with a draped shoulder visible at the truncation. A circular Latin legend runs between two beaded inner and outer borders, reading FERDINAND:D:G:REX, identifying the monarch by name and divine right of kingship. |
