The surrounding Latin circumferential legend reads DVC:SAX:ABBAT:QVEDLIN H L, identifying the abbess as Duchess of Saxony and Abbess of Quedlinburg. The composition and style are consistent with hammered gold ducats of the early Thirty Years' War period. |
