Reverse description Full-length armored figure of Saint Maurice, patron saint of Magdeburg, standing facing with a lance or standard bearing a pennant held in his right hand and a heraldic shield displaying an eagle resting against his left side. The saint is depicted in detailed plate armor with a sword at his side. The circular legend SANCTVS MAVRITVS is distributed around the figure within a beaded or plain inner border, all executed in the distinctive flat-relief style characteristic of hammered German gold ducats of the early seventeenth century.
