Reverse description A crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed, its wings spread and each head surmounted by a separate imperial crown with a larger crown arching over both heads, perched atop a tall column rising from a ground strewn with military trophies, arms, and spoils of war. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire design reading HAEC COLUMNA HOSTIS UMBRA CADET, referencing the column as a symbol of imperial power under whose shadow enemies fall. The composition is rendered in the robust hammered style characteristic of mid-seventeenth-century Augsburg coinage.
