Four ornamental foliate flourishes occupy the cardinal points around the cipher, with two larger baroque scroll ornaments flanking the sides. The peripheral Latin legend encircles the design within a beaded border, recording the king's full ducal titles. The date 1685 appears incorporated into the reverse legend. |
