Obverse description Equestrian effigy of King Christian V facing right, depicted in full armour with a plumed helmet and a baton or sceptre held horizontally in his right hand. The king rides a prancing horse with elaborately decorated harness and flowing tail, set against a plain field with a suggestion of rocky ground beneath. The rim is bordered by a continuous beaded or milled inner circle. No legend appears on this face, with the entire composition devoted to the bold, high-relief equestrian portrait in the Baroque military tradition.
