| Obverse description | Youthful draped bust of Margrave Christian Ernest facing slightly to the right, with long flowing hair falling to the shoulders, wearing a lace cravat and armoured cuirass. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the Baroque portrait style typical of mid-17th-century German coinage.
