Obverse description Full-length effigy of Charles X Gustav facing front, clad in elaborate armour with a fur-trimmed mantle, wearing an open crown; the king holds a sceptre topped with a cross in his right hand and an orb surmounted by a cross in his left. The figure stands on a plain ground with the mintmaster's initials VB visible at the base. A rope-beaded border frames the design, and the circular Latin legend runs around the periphery, partially reading CAROL GUSTAVUS D G REX SUE DVX P.
