Obverse description Draped bust of Charles Joseph, Count of Fagnolle, facing left, wearing a coat with decorative Order star on the chest and a lace cravat, with powdered hair tied at the nape in late 18th-century aristocratic fashion. The circumferential legend reads CAROLVS P S I R ALINEA C FAGNOLENSIS in raised Latin characters around the periphery. The engraver's initials I.H. appear in the lower exergue beneath the bust truncation. The portrait is rendered in a refined neoclassical style characteristic of late Habsburg-era coinage from the Belgian states.
