附加信息

Charles II ruled Inner Austria — Styria, Carinthia, and Carniola — as a separate Habsburg appanage following the 1564 partition among Ferdinand I's sons. His Klagenfurt mint operated under considerable pressure to produce gold coinage for the court and for regional trade, competing with the far more productive Graz establishment. The eleven-year span of this issue reflects continuous demand rather than sporadic output.

Charles died in 1590, meaning ducats dated after that point were struck under his son Ferdinand — later Ferdinand II, Holy Roman Emperor — continuing the father's titulature during the transition.
