The effigy is rendered in high relief in the late Baroque court portrait style. Reverse description Elaborately quartered oval shield of arms surmounted by a princely crown with cross finial, supported on the left by a rampant lion standing on its hind legs and on the right by a lion-like heraldic beast. The shield displays the multiple quarterings of the Palatinate-Zweibrücken dynastic arms, including lions passant and barry fields. Below the shield hangs a decorative chain of orders with dependent cross badges. The date 17 90 is divided by the shield, appearing to the left and right in the field.
