Reverse description Elaborately quartered oval coat of arms of the Landgraviate of Hesse-Cassel, featuring multiple heraldic divisions including the lion of Hesse, the crosslet of Thuringia, and additional territorial bearings. The shield is surmounted by a large electoral bonnet-style crown with elaborate acanthus mantling flanking both sides. The entire composition is rendered in fine baroque engraving style, with no surrounding legend. A milled reed border frames the design.
