Obverse description Youthful draped bust of Duke Charles Frederick facing right, with flowing long hair, set within a beaded border. The circumferential Latin legend reads CAROL • FRIDER • D • G • DVX • SVPR • SIFS, identifying the ruler by name and title. The portrait is rendered in a bold Baroque style typical of early 18th-century German ducal coinage. The truncation of the bust is plain, without armorial or drapery embellishment below the shoulder.

The shield is set within a plain field, encircled by a beaded border. The circumferential Latin legend CONSTANTIA ET LABORE incorporates the date 1706, distributed around the perimeter. The overall design reflects the heraldic tradition of the Holstein-Gottorp ducal house.
