| 背面描述 | Crowned quartered arms of Württemberg within an ornate baroque cartouche, supported by elaborate foliate scrollwork and acanthus mantling. Charles Eugene's long reign over Württemberg was defined less by sound governance than by spectacular financial mismanagement — he maintained one of the most extravagant courts in the Holy Roman Empire, modeled consciously on Versailles, and funded it partly by selling his subjects' sons as soldiers to foreign powers. The ducal treasury was under constant strain throughout the years this coin was struck.
Friedrich Schiller was among those who chafed directly under his rule, eventually fleeing Württemberg in 1782 after the duke banned him from writing.
