正面描述 Draped bust of Prince Charles August Frederick facing right, with naturally curled hair falling to the nape of the neck, rendered in a Baroque portrait style. A mintmaster's initial 'S' appears in the lower field beneath the truncation. The circumferential Latin legend reads CAROL • D • G • P • WALD • C • P • E • R • S •, abbreviating his full titles as Prince of Waldeck by the grace of God. The coin's milled border frames the design with a fine denticular pattern.

附加信息

Waldeck-Pyrmont's 1762 ducat was struck under Charles August Frederick, who ruled the tiny principality from 1728 until his death in 1763 — making this one of his final issues. Waldeck maintained the right to strike gold coinage as an imperial estate of the Holy Roman Empire, a privilege jealously guarded by even the smallest German territories well into the eighteenth century.

The .986 fineness meets the long-established ducat standard that had circulated across European trade routes since the medieval period, ensuring acceptance far beyond Waldeck's borders.
