Obverse description Draped and laureate bust of Carl XI facing left, rendered in a baroque portrait style with flowing hair extending below the laurel wreath. The effigy fills much of the field, with the king depicted in regal attire with visible drapery at the shoulder. A continuous Latin legend encircles the bust, identifying the monarch by name and royal title. The portrait exhibits the characteristic hammered relief typical of Swedish ducats of this period.
